Alright yall, with the beautiful weather we've been blessed with I've had to have some good tunes to sing to (with the windows down of course) on my 40 min. commute to/from work. This past week, I went through an old stash of CD's and found my Summit Choir Fall 2008 CD. And then I found my Fall 2009 Cd... and I just kept finding more and more of our practice CD's. And of course I popped 'em in and was jammin.
One of my favorite things about being a part of Summit's choir (when I was a member there) was that many of the songs we sang were straight from Scripture. I also loved the way Chris Gaynor, our choir director, taught us to worship freely. It was really a beautiful time in my life when I learned how to worship in song freely, not worrying about what I looked/sounded like. Anyways, I broke these cd's out the other day and found one of my favorite songs that we did by Brooklyn Tab. and I wanted to share it here.
It's based off of Psalm 3. So here is the Psalm...
LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. 2 Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah
3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. 4 I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.
7 Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. 8 Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah
And here is the Brooklyn Tab. choir gettin' it. I love it! I hope it encourages you today like it has me! Much Love - B
