Fall Favs & Photo Friday
All right - I'm trying to start doing a Photo Friday every week to capture some sweet moments of the girls even when I don't have a lot of time to blog. But I haven't posted since last week so this is a combo post (photos of the girls are at the bottom if you have zero desire to actually entertain my rantings ;)). And yes, it's being posted on Friday evening... barely. I'm trying people... Trying... but blogging isn't quite on the top of my list these days. Cleaning poopy diapers and being a milk cow are somewhat semi-consuming. All that to say... I'm trying. :) And holy cow... time has FLOWN by! It's fall?!?!?! Glory hallelujah. But really, I'm slightly confused how I skipped August and September - but evidently it's mid October and I'm rolling with it because it feels amazing here in RDU.
The weather isn't the only thing that makes my heart happy about fall. Fall means that it's time to break out a few of my favorite things. (It's also pre-holiday season... which is my ABSOLUTE favorite!) But that's for another day, another blog post. SO without further adieu... here are a few of my fav fall things:
First - fall decor. Yes please. I took a trip to Home Goods not too long ago and picked up a few things to scatter around the home.
And of course, the happy everything plate has to change along with the seasons!
And how can it actually be fall without a trip to the fair??? No - we did not take our babies. I can't think of anything more traumatizing... Taking our colicky babies, who are still not even 3 weeks past their due date (but actually 12 weeks old), to a germ infested location full of crowds, crazies, and e-coli. No. Thank. You. My blood pressure would sky rocket and we don't need that. :) Mil & Pil came and watched the girls while we went on a double with some sassy friends from our small group from church. Oh the good times were rolling.
Also to kick off the fall taste buds, I tried my first attempt at homemade applesauce with apples from our local farmer's market. I would take a picture of it, but it's all gone... except for a bag in the freezer. Whoops. Obviously this Pinterest crockpot recipe was a HIT. I made a few adjustments, lemon juice instead of actual lemon peel... etc. But the basic concept was a perfect fit for us. I highly recommend it!
And speaking of the farmer's market - some of my family came in for a quick visit this week and we took at trip to the market! And my sweet nephews got to meet their twin cousins for the first time. So fun!! :)
Then last but not least... What's fall without Pumpkins & Mums??? Really there isn't much better.
Actually I'm wrong... Pumpkin and chocolate all in one cookie is brilliantly better. This recipe from Pinterest was a hit in our home!
And actually... I'm wrong again... Pumpkins on babies is definitely the bestest.
Don't even try to tell me I'm wrong about that one. :) Pumpkins + Babies = Amazing. Happy Fall everyone!
Much love,
