Benched.

Well... it's been awhile since I've posted a marathon training update... This is LONG overdue, my apologies. I've seem to "run" into a slight road bump these past few weeks.

Since the end of August I've been fighting sickness off and on pretty consistently. If it's not one thing, it's another! I'm usually a pretty healthy person so after a few months of snotting, coughing, and exhaustion Mama Donald urged me to finally go to the doctor. So, I reluctantly went to the doctor this week and per his orders I'm not allowed to run for a few weeks until we get the tests back and get my immune system functioning better. BOOOOOOO. (and that's why i don't like going to the doctor... they make you do things you don't want to do). So... needless to say, I can't really train when I'm not allowed to run. :(

No worries though, I'll be back in a few weeks and will restart the whole training process... My dear friend Alicia who will be running with me in May is still going strong though, so that is AWESOME!

Alright, well I know that is not the update that many of you would like to hear... but that's just another reality of training for a marathon: you hit ALL sorts of obstacles along the way! Some are physical, some are mental, and others are emotional. Regardless, overcoming obstacles is what makes crossing the finish line of the marathon so sweet. So here's to the training season's first official hiccup. I might be benched for a time... but I'll be back soon.

Much love.

Ps. Random thought for the day... I really think there should be an exception clause in the business attire rules on Friday. It should say something like: Shower, be clean and presentable, but please feel free to also wear your favorite hoodie on Fridays (especially if it's under 50 degrees outside).  Just an idea.
