To My Girls: 6 months
Oh baby girls, I can't believe it's been 6 months since you've entered our world. Currently you are both boycotting naps... Noel you have rolled over onto your back for the 21023984173265th time this morning and are just staring at your mobile. Felicity, you are in the process of screaming yourself back to sleep. Typical morning here in the Salmon household.
Noel you weigh 12 lbs 5 oz and are 22.75 inches long. Felicity you weigh 12 lbs and are 22.25 inches long. You both aren't on the charts for height, but Noel you are in the 1-3% for weight and Felicity you are still -1% (it's amazing a difference 5 oz can make eh?!). You both have ginormous heads for your little bodies. Your head circumferences are 42.9 cm (Felicity) and 43.2 cm (Noel). Big heads, but they sure are cute.

The Dr. said that you are right on track for your corrected age, 4 months. I have to confess, every time I go to the doctor I have to prep myself. I know that it usually takes 2 years for preemie babies to catch up, but each time I'm secretly hoping that you'll do it much quicker and that this will be the appointment where they say "You're babies are right on track for their actual age." I know it won't happen for a while... but still each time I hope. You are doing spectacular though! You're doing all the things that a typical 4 month old baby does.
You can roll from your tummy to your back & are in the process of learning how to roll from your back to your tummy. It's quite entertaining to watch. You're like turtles that get stuck and can't roll over. Here's a video of Felicity trying to flip (I'm sure no one will find this entertaining other than me and the grands... but hopefully you will one day!):

And you're both starting to jabber. Nothing substantial yet, but you've found your voices and are learning new sounds. You both really like to talk to us at night & during the day you're silent... unless you think no one is watching and then you jabber in your crib or swing... it's the sweetest thing. As soon as you see me or your daddy (or our phones trying to capture the moment), you stop and smile... and the moment is gone. It's pretty cute. So in order to film it... we have to try to be sneaky like this...

You also are trying to scoot. We'll place you on the play mat and yall are all over it. You're not quite crawling, but you're definitely mobile. In just a few weeks, I'm going to have to step up my A game for sure... yall are going to have me on the move!
I just started introducing oatmeal cereal to yall last week and thus far it's a success! You're enjoying it a lot! :) This mama is looking forward to getting yall to solids as soon as possible, as yall are getting a little difficult to nurse simultaneously. You're obsessed with each others' hands and if one of you starts to cry the other one does... All that to say, I work up a sweat feeding yall these days. It's like a wrestling match with milk and tears and baby hands flying everywhere. :)

Really, you are an absolute joy in our lives. Again, having twins is one of the most difficult things I've done... but it's also been the most rewarding. :) You are loved more than we can ever tell you! Please know that even now, at this age, we pray for you. We pray that you will one day come to love the Lord and that His hand will guide your steps. I pray that He will keep you from too much pain in this world, and that one day you'll know the joys of marriage and motherhood. And I pray for your spouses & their parents. It is odd to think that my daughter's future mil, somewhere out there, is knee deep in spit up and dirty diapers too. I pray that your dad and I will live long healthy lives and that the Lord allows us to see you married, with children, serving Him faithfully. And I pray for grace, that our lives will help point you toward the Gospel instead of repel you.
You are loved sweet ones.
You will always and forever be my daughters, and I will always and forever love you.
Much love,
