Stimulus Tuesday

Ok I'm sorry, I know I've been a bad blogger this past week!! But between this being my last week of work (WHAT!? crazy!), the weather being beautiful, and my last week of graduate school at seminary (hollllllla!) I've been slightly preoccupied. Not to mention that I've been stuck in novel land. I frequently go through reading spurts where almost all of my free time is devoted to my latest book obsession. No worries, I just finished my current distraction... I'll be back to normal soon.

Also, it's been baby fever here in the Salmon world. Not that we're catching it, but all of our friends are popping out kids left and right... so we've had a blast visiting with our new little friends and their parents the past few days... All that to say... life has been busy as usual but oh so good. :) I've just been a little distracted from blogging.

Ok today I want to share 2 things with you.

1. Last night my friend Jen opened up a whole new world for me in Raleigh. You know, we implants (outsiders who move to Raleigh post college), don't know all the bells and whistles of the city's best kept secrets. Jen, graciously, changed my Raleigh life last night.

Two words: Stimulus Tuesday.

When Jen texted & asked if I was "interested in stimulus tues at the dolla fifty" (movie theater), I thought she was asking me to see the movie "Stimulus Tues." I felt incredibly out of touch with pop culture until she kindly explained that no, Stimulus Tues is not a movie, but yes it would change my life (ok maybe she didn't say that last part... but still... it did). So what exactly is Stimulus Tuesday? It's when you get to see a movie for $1.50, and popcorn and drinks are $1/piece. WHAT?! GASP!?!  (yes I know, I've been living here for three years and am way behind...). Let me repeat myself. I went to a movie, got popcorn AND a drink for ONLY $3.50. Boooooyah.

Raleigh life.... CHANGED.

Also, we watched Tangled. Best Disney movie I've seen in a LONG time. It took me back to the good old days of Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, and the Little Mermaid with all of its cartoon and singing glory...

If you live in the area... you should stop by the Carmike Blue Ridge 14 Cinema (aka. the dolla fifty) on a Stimulus Tuesday.

2. Ok remember last week when I shared from Psalm 3 and the Brooklyn Tab. choir? Guess what?! Our church choir this week did a song from Psalm 121. I can't tell you how much I love it when choirs sing straight from Scripture. Anyways, I thought I would share this psalm with you since I love it so much & have been rockin' out to some gospel choir music lately:

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Alright... that's all for today... Happy Wednesday to you all...
