Tuesday with the Finnlings
I have got to start remembering to bring my camera places. My bad. Yesterday I spent the day with the Leah & her precious Finnlings (insert cute photo of the adorable kids here... oh wait... you forgot your camera... again). Seriously, she & Dr. Finn have some pretty adorable kiddos. It was a great afternoon to say the least.
First off, Leah made The Pioneer Woman's Knock you Naked Brownies.
photo by me... Oh wait, no, you didn't get a photo bc you forgot your camera.... this one's from The Pioneer Woman
How can you not have a good time when eating these???
Second, she taught me how to sew something special. I can't identify it... bc it's for a sweet friend who is pregnant and I don't want to ruin the surprise... and she's one of the three of you that read this. :) But I promise to post pictures once the project is finished and my preggers friend has it in hand. It's looking goooooood & I'm super excited... and that's all I'm saying.
Third, I really enjoyed just spending time with Leah and the kids. I am a huge fan of women investing in women - especially if it involves chocolate AND sewing. I mean, how can you go wrong?
It is CRUCIAL for the church to have Christian women to open up their homes to each other, to spend time with one another, to talk about important issues at hand, and of course to eat chocolate together. It was and is always so helpful for me, a girl who has serious fears about having children and is working through them, to be welcomed into homes full of laughter & love. It's good to see the hard realities of having kids as well as the blessings! So ladies, whether your single, married, with kids, or without... be hospitable! Open up your home to girls of all ages and different stages in life. You never know how you might be blessing that other lady - and I'm sure you'll be blessed by their friendship as well!
Titus 2
1 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. 3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God...
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
What about yall? Am I the only one who LOVES/NEEDS to be surrounded by other women? Are there ladies in your life who have invested in you? I'd love to hear about 'em.
Much love and Happy Wednesday!
