Scattered Saturday
Oh me oh my... Spring Break is definitely over. :(
But the countdown for summer is on - not just for the kids, but I think we teachers are also equally (if not more) excited! Or maybe its just me... Either way... June 7th, Come Quickly.
So honestly, these next few weeks are going to be hectic! Attempting to finish all my assignments for grad. school, finish student teaching, and baking babies keeps me pretty busy - so my blogging may or may not be sporadic. My apologies in advance.
Ok so my brain is scattered and I'm feeling random so I'm just going to list a few things that are rolling around in this crazy brain of mine... Take it or leave it.
1. Insurgent:
I'm pretty pumped about this book coming out.
Don't get me wrong - it's nothing life changing or special. But its the second book in the Divergent series and it comes out in a few weeks. I almost forgot about the series, but then amazon was kind to remind me that the second book is almost available! It has the feel of Hunger Games but doesn't really compare bc we all know that the HG series is dabomb.com. But in light of being in a bit of a reading slump... I'll gladly welcome it.
2. Other Pregnant People.
I am LOVING that I'm sharing this time of pregnancy with other preggers friends right now. I'm LOVING it and maybe borderline obsessed. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved to rub a pregnant woman's belly (no shame) and have assaulted many of my pregnant friends over the years... but it's so different when there is one (or two) inside of you too! I can't describe it... all that to say it's been fun to keep up with preggers friends from afar AND meet new preggers/mommy blogger friends through this journey! Such a neat experience.
Also last night we had a birthday celebration and cookout for our beloved friend Cat and it was GLORIOUS. First off, we love celebrating Cat - she's a great friend. Secondly... this weather and environment was amazing... just look at these photos below... But thirdly and most selfishly, there were a lot of pregnant people there and little babies running around! That was such a HUGE encouragement to me! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who is experiencing the highs and lows of crazy pregnancy hormones and sickness. I loved celebrating the gift of life (YAY Cat! and YAY babies!) with so many of my old friends and some new ones. It's so amazing to see how I met some of these ladies only 4 years ago and how much God has changed our lives since then!
Get it CAT...
Holy FirePit. I wanted to stay there forever.
3. My Pregnant Celebrity Crush:
No shock here - Jennifer Garner. I adore her. Is she still pregnant? Nope... but our pregnancies did overlap for a few months. She popped hers out over a month ago... but I just love her and have always loved her approach in life and especially in pregnancy. It's always very subtle, natural, and appears normal. You can also bet your life savings that if she's on the cover of a magazine... I bought it and framed it (ok... only one of those things is true... you decide). And by golly, doesn't she just look fantastic, yet still so normal, only 3 weeks post baby?
4. Week 16 Pregnancy Update (the boring details only other women ask):
Well the good news is, I've gone my longest without throwing up!!!!!! Amen? Amen. I still dry heave some... but hey... improvement is improvement and I'm taking it and running with it. I need an obscene amount of sleep in order to function these days... but again... I'm seeing improvement. I still have food aversions and am pretty much just eating fruits and breads, with the occasional grilled hot dog (weird... I know), but I'm slowly starting to branch out and try some chicken and veggies every now and then to see how they settle. Sometimes they work... sometimes they don't. Again - improvement. As for movement - yes I can feel them, just not consistently. I think I'm feeling Parr A more than Parr B due to his/her placement.
Babies are growing and healthy and we should find out the genders THIS THURSDAY!!! Lord-willing at least one of them flashes their goods during our hour long ultrasound. This ultrasound is a pretty important one as they start to compare growth rates and blood flow, etc. They're checking for a thing called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome and we are PRAYING against it and would covet your prayers as well. As for my growth - let's just say I'm growing and that is a good thing!
5. That Mom:
It's a little weird to think of me being a mother... it's even more freakish to realize that the Mister and I are reproducing in multiples. I'm pretty thankful for the resources that are available to mom's of multiples, but at the same time a little hesitant about jumping into the TMOTT club (Triangle Mothers of Twins and Triplets). But alas, I signed up for my first "luncheon" and I'm going to give it a go. It's in May - and I'm a little hesitant - but heck... I'll give it a shot (& there's free food... what pregnant lady in her right mind says no to free food?).
6. Spiritually:
The Lord has been teaching me a lot these past few weeks... but I haven't fully processed my thoughts yet so I'll have to wait for a later date to post something a bit more meaningful. But I can say that in all things, all situations, all circumstances good or bad... He is sovereign and He is good.
I hope you all have a very happy weekend and I will catch you on the flip side!
