Real.
Hey internet friends,
It’s been a while. Honestly I don’t know where to start and there’s really no good way to go about this. But this blog isn’t just about documenting the good seasons, it’s also about being real & honest while documenting my life as the author, and our family’s life.
With that said, I believe some things are better left unsaid and some details are better left private. So during this time I think it is honest and vulnerable enough to say that dark skies have come our way. We are currently in a difficult season. We have put our adoption on hold, which is extremely heart breaking for us, but necessary. During this time we are slowing our lives down significantly and taking time away from social engagements.
All that to say, we covet your prayers and are so thankful for your support. We are being well cared for by our families and our church family. AND for those of you who have been gracious about respecting our privacy, Ben and I are forever grateful.
I plan on continuing to write. So I will be posting here, but it will mostly be about the girls and documenting their lives (they are SUCH A JOY to us) and I might post some spiritual things (or I might not… who knows). Oh and I’ll also be posting about The Fabulous Mr. Tom Hanks – which if you don’t follow me on instagram you’re probably extremely confused at my new obsession with Mr. Hanks. Yes, I do love the movie You’ve Got Mail. But no, that’s not what I’m referring to. I bought a puppy. Yup – I sure did, and I named him The Fabulous Mr. Tom Hanks… “Hanks” for short. And I know I’m biased, but he’s awfully cute and brings a lot of joy to our house. I mean… just look at him.
Needless to say he’s a big hit.
Real life is messy. And sometimes people only post the pretty. That’s not me and that’s not this blog. We’re all broken, in need of a Redeemer. Some seasons we’re more aware of that need than others. This is one of those seasons for our family. I pray though, that as we walk through this, this blog continues to point you to the author of true JOY, the only one who is big enough to bring beauty to even the darkest hour.
Jesus is Better.
Jesus is Greater.
Jesus Redeems.
…And He has not abandoned us.
Much love,
Ps. I am also taking a break from facebook, so if you want to keep up with the blog, you’ll have to subscribe because I will no longer be advertising new posts on there!
