Carnie Day

I love attending the State fair. LOVE it. Turkey legs, fried candy milky ways, grilled corn on the cob, cotton candy, frozen lemonade, the rides, the fireworks, EVERYTHING. I love it all!

BUT... I never thought I'd actually be working a booth at the fair... Wellllllllllll, today is your lucky day if you're going to the North Carolina state fair today...

For real. I'm working a booth for NC State's graduate school of linguistics. Weird I know - but it gets me an additional 5% extra credit in The Cussing Professor's (who now wears an eyepatch) class. Booyah. I'll only be there until 1:30pm so swing by and see me if you happen to be one of the few people who actually go to the fair during the morning.

Alright, now that we all can embrace the fact that I'm working a fair booth today and am a carnie at heart... I have another confession.

I've been an AWFUL runner this fall. And by awful, I mean absolutely incredibly profoundly awful. I now have 3 weeks before my 1/2 marathon and am positive that I'm not ready for it. My long runs have been not so long... and my short runs have been even shorter. :( I have 3 weeks to whip my legs into shape and I'm a little doubtful. BUT... we're going to see how this goes. I sure as heck won't drop out... I just might be walking (gasp) across the finish line. I've never walked in a half before, but there is always a first time for everything. Oh well... You reap what you sow, right?

Alright enough confessions for today. Come see me at the fair. Peace.
