A Concert of Worship
I know... I know... I missed a photo Friday. Thank you for the texts & fb msgs to remind me how horrible of a blogger I am. :) BUT... if I do say so myself, I had a really busy week. The girls had a lot of fun firsts!
We went to our first women's conference at my church AND holy moly... I've never seen so many women nursing in church at one time. It was fantastic. Now, of course, I was unable to just whip it out modestly like others... so I opted to take the freak show to a random room I broke into... but still. It was awesome.
The girls and I also took our first solo trip to the mall and target. AND we took their first trip to the outlets with their Aunt K and Aunt Lauren. I wish I had taken a picture - but it was truly an adventure that consisted of nursing in the van, changing diapers in a changing room (yes... I was THAT mom), and lots of stares at the screaming babies in the stroller. Just for the record - I do NOT recommend shopping with a double stroller at the outlets. Every thing is so crowded and the stores' aisles just aren't conducive for pushing that monstrosity around. Eh - you live, you learn, and I shopped. So it was a success in my book!
All that to say - we were busy this past week. Sorry for the absence of posts!
But that's not what this post is about. This post is EXCITING.
This weekend the Mister and I are going to be singing in our church's choir performances. And let me just tell you - we love this choir. LOVE it. I joined this choir right after college and sang with it for a few years until I met the Mister. Then I took a brief break and when we joined the summit last year & they created an all campus choir, we jumped at the opportunity to serve in it again.
So... this weekend if you do not have plans and you're in Raleigh, you're not going to want to miss this! Friday, November 16 at 7:00 and Sunday November 18 at 5:30. Both concerts are at the Brier Creek campus of the Summit Church. Tickets are $5 each and ALL PROCEEDS will go to fund orphan care, medical clinics and child rescue in India during the choir's mission trip in January 2013. Last spring tickets sold out QUICKLY so you're going to want to purchase these asap - do NOT count on buying one at the door.
And if you are still hesitant about going, you should know that the Mister has a solo, and he's really REALLY good if I do say so myself. Yes, I know what you're thinking... "Wait, the Mister is handsome, funny, has a great smile & laugh, AND he sings!! Wow Brit, you're a lucky woman." And my reply is... "YES. Yes I am... now back up off it." ;)
But for real, you're going to want to come. It really is an awesome time of worship & is one of my many favorite things about The Summit.
Get YOUR TICKETS here. :)
Alright that's all for now! Much love to you all,
