September is coming! September is coming!

Friends, August is almost over.

I'm just letting you know because it definitely snuck up on me. The Mister and I were chatting the other night about plans for Labor Day weekend, and when I mentioned how far away it was... He just looked at me like I was oblivious (bc I was) and politely informed that it was next week. NEXT WEEK PEOPLE. And I fell out of my chair from the shock of it all... Where does time go? Seriously. I'm pretty sure August just started... how can it be ending so soon???

All that to say...

September is coming... THE FALL IS COMING!!!!!

Fall means a lot of different things to different people. But one of the things I LOVE about fall is the food (duh). None of you are surprised by that, I know. So last week when it dipped below 70 those few days, I may or may not have pre-gamed a bit and made the first batch of chili this year. A little premature... I know. But I just got SO excited about the cool weather! I was tempted to break out my fall decor to celebrate, but we're currently staging our house and prepping for putting it on the market so since less is best, I only put out a few things.

Yup, my two FAVORITE fall candles from Bath & Body Works (Leaves and Autumn) and my football decal for the Happy Everything Plate. Seriously, these items just make my heart flutter. Speaking of football... We are 1 week away from NC STATE's first home football game. To say our family is excited is probably a gross understatement. We may or may not have the girls' outfits already picked out. And we're starting to recruit babysitters for late evening games. Seriously... I told you we're excited.

All this to say... FALL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. And this mama's heart is excited by thoughts of crisp evenings, the beautiful Raleigh tree line, cobblers, babies in hoodies, soups, exploring a pumpkin patch, and the potential to break out my boots. Oh and being able to run without feeling like you're being suffocated by the humidity will also be nice! ;)

And right after FALL is the HOLIDAY season... Heaven help the Mister... this is my FAVORITE time of year. People, we're on the brink of my giddy season, so yall be warned and watch out. The blog could potentially have an obnoxious amount of spice and glitter. I'll try to keep it to a minimum... but I'm not making any promises.

Enjoy these last few days of August!

The Fourth

Hey Friends, sorry for the time between posts! To say it has been an eventful couple of weeks would be an understatement. To be honest, I'd love to catch you up on all the details, but I just don't think I have it in me. Plus, some of it is personal - so I'll just say this. A good man passed away on June 28th & it broke my Kentucky family and friends' hearts. So I went home to be with family and grieve with friends. It's been a hard couple of weeks.

I arrived back in Raleigh July 3rd, just in time for the festivities! Although, to be honest, it felt wrong to be "celebrating" a holiday in light of my previous week. But man... it was SO good for my heart to be reunited with The Mister and my babies. We opted to spend some quality time at the lake away from the busyness of Raleigh life and it was really good for my soul. It's a shame that sometimes it takes a tragic death to make you squeeze your family close and be truly grateful for this time together on earth.

Alas, our fourth was really sweet. I just love this stage with the girls. I took some pics on my MIL's fancy camera... but I didn't download the pics to my computer yet so these beauties will have to do! If you follow me in the Instaworld... some of these are repeats... my B. But I'll do a post soon with actual GOOD photos. :)

AND last but not least... our first family boat ride... Noel was obviously enjoying herself... (NOT!) hahah. She was hating life. But Felicity LOVED it.

Alright yall, I hope you all enjoyed your family & friends this fourth!

Much love,

The Holidays are HERE

Oh my goodness!!!! If you don't know me... you need to know this...

Like I legitimately go bananas over them.

And they're here. THEY ARE HERE. 99.5 is playing Christmas music. I have pecan pies in the oven, cookies on the table and my family is slowly trickling in. The holiday season has arrived.

I don't think you understand how happy this makes me. But I am REALLY REALLY REALLY happy right now.

Like this happy...

Babies are being tended to by family... I mean just look at these nuts... they're pretty happy about life right now.

It's going to be a great weekend folks. Simply amazing.

That's right people, it's my first year hosting Thanksgiving for my family and the Mister's parents. Don't be so impressed - my mom has been helping all week (she came in early so she wouldn't have to share the babies) and we're totally using disposable plates for Thanksgiving dinner. ha! I had hopes and dreams of a table fit for pinterest, but with baby girls here... we just decided the less dishes the better. We're going the comfy route instead of fancy - which if you know our families, is a significantly better fit. Although seriously, one day I'm definitely going to make one of those chalk board table settings... One day I'll get to my pinterest party board, one day... Maybe when the girls are in college...

Anyways, lots of firsts. Babies' first Thanksgiving. Momma's first Turkey Trot (& my first 3.1 mile run post-babies... we'll see how that goes). First thanksgiving with both sets of parents. Babies first Christmas tree is going up FRIDAY.

AHHHH i'm so excited. :)

We have a lot to be thankful for this year, that is FOR SURE!

I hope you and yours are counting your blessings this year. I know that for some, the holiday season is a hard one. For some of you this is a first Thanksgiving without a beloved family member, a child, a parent, a friend. Or perhaps you have a friend and family member fighting for their life right now. I know we have many friends with children or parents fighting cancer this holiday season & I just can't imagine. UGH. And just so you know, you are not forgotten. We are praying peace, hope, and joy over you despite your time of grief. You are not forgotten - you are not overlooked. We are interceding on your behalf and praying that this holiday season will be one of joy and peace despite your circumstances.

Much love to you all!
